CHAPTER 4 : The Prince

The scream was coming from the toilet. Almost everybody went to the toilet to search for the source of the sound, except for The Owner, he stayed at the living room to keep the candle on. When we enter the toilet we saw nothing but Jane crying at the corner of the toilet room. She was crying besides the candle that had turned off because she dropped it

It was Jane. She was the one that screamed. But when we found her she was crying. All of us were confused. None of us knew what was happening to her, until she pointed her finger to the bathtub. I stood and rushed to the bathtub and open the curtain. We saw it all. We saw him. It was James. He's dead.

There was a wound all over his body. He was tied and his mouth were shut with dirty cloth. There was a knife besides him. We believed it was the killing weapon. Akira, his father, and I took care of the body and covered it. But the toilet was still full of blood.

After three of us took care of the body, we gathered all of the guests and The Owner in the living room, and told everyone that we shouldn't separate from each other. Because we all knew, the murderer could be one of us.

CHAPTER 3 : The Morning

2 November 2000, we should had been arrived to Canada by that time, but we couldn't escape the storm in this mountain. It was already morning, but the sun shine couldn't get through the cloud at all. It was as dark as a night.

The Owner woke us up for breakfast, so all of us gathered at the dining room. All of the guest showed up except 1 family,  The family that was playing ping pong with us. Akira asked The Owner where would they go, The Owner said that they forced to go out and he couldn't stopped them, so he let them go. Akira also said that maybe they cannot survive the storm.

I saw everybody faces. All of them were scared. Jane face became pale. James was panic about our plane ticket, "How do we get home?", he screamed. He tried to call the airport many times, but he cannot get any signal. But Sarah was so calm, like she was thinking of something, I wonder what was she thinking about. Akira's father was looking out the window, after that he looked back and said something that make the situation even worse. "There was an avalanche on the road. We cannot get through until the road got clear." Now everybody is panic.

Suddenly, the light goes off. Everybody screamed, not long after that the situation got calm. The Owner brought some candle and we gathered in the living room, some of us went sitting beside the fish pond. I was in the living room. We were chatting until we heard a something terrifying from from the toilet. "Aaaaaaaaaahh!!!"

SURYA REMBULAN 1

Malam hari
Bisu.. senyap.. sunyi
Tak terasa lamanya menanti
Menanti sinar pagi datang kembali

Sinar pagi yang hangatkan jiwa
Dibawa damai oleh sang surya
Surya alam terus berkelana
Menempuh siang sendiri merana

Hari demi hari ia jalani
Senyap.. sunyi.. sendiri..
Dipantau jauh pemandangan asri
Terpaut sosok seorang bidadari

Kala biru berpaling jingga
Secercah cahaya penuhi angkasa
Kala itu rembulan tiba
Memikat lembut hati sang surya

CHAPTER 2 : The Inn

Our trip continues, we finally arrived at the peak of Mount Fuji. It was a beautiful evening back then. We spent some hours there. When we were enjoying our time, a mysterious man approaches us. He speaks Japanese, so I asked Akira about what is he talking about. "Well he asked what are we doing here because there is a storm coming. He said we must go home or find a shelter soon. He suggested that we should stay in his inn for this night" said Akira. At first Akira told his father to go home and we shouldn't stay at that man's inn because he was suspicious, but his father said it was okay, so we stayed at the inn.

"Welcome to my inn, i'll prepare your room, how many people are there?" The mysterious man was the owner of the inn. He asked Akira's mother in Japanese. "8 people, please" Said Akira's mother. After that the owner prepare 3 rooms for us. Akira, James, and I were in the 12th room. Akira's Father, Akira's mother, and Akira's sister were in the 13th room. And the girls stayed at 14th room. The rooms were so clean and tidy. I couldn't believe the owner prepare this room for us. Eventhough his speaking tone was a little bit rude, but he was a very good guy. He even prepared the food for the guests.

Besides us, there are 3 other families. They are all Japanese. They stayed at 2 rooms each from the 2nd to the 7th room. The 1st room is the owner's room. The 8th and 9th room doors were broken and the 10th room is locked. I wonder what was in that room.

After dinner, we played ping pong at the inn. We were playing with one of the other families. There are 6 family member of that family. The grandpa, the grandma, the father, the mother, the son, and the daughter. We played double, James and I againts The grandpa and the daughter. They were good, beyond my expectation. We played by our turns until midnight. After finished playing ping pong, I took a bath and we went to sleep. We were asleep confortably without knowing what a terrible things awaits us.

CHAPTER 1 : The Trip

"Sad but true" it is a song that I'm listening right now. This song by Metallica makes me remember about that incident. It's been 17 years since then, yet I can't forget a single thing about it. You know what, I'm gonna tell my story to you right now.

It was 22 November 2000, my friends and I are going to Japan. My friends are James, Jane, Susan, and Akira. James is a Canadian-Mexican, he has a blonde hair, but he is very short, he often gets teased by Jane because of his height. Jane is a beutiful lady with a blonde ponytail, she is James' little sister, she is sligthly taller than her brother. Susan is James' classmate with me, she has brown hair and she is pretty smart, but she doesn't like to talk very much. Akira is Jane's classmate and her boyfriend, he is Japanese, and the only person in our group that can speak Japanese.

All five of us studied in the same high school in Canada. We came to Japan because James has won a lottery for 5 people and the prize is we get to go to any country we want for free. Akira suggested we should go to Japan to visit his homeland and learn about the japanese culture and tradition. Honesly, I was very exited for this trip. Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Thomas, i'm canadian just like Susan. James, Susan, and I were classmate for 2 years. This is our third year at high school. Jane and Akira was 1 year below us. All 5 of us often play together since we were kids because we live in the same block.

Our trip in Japan was so fun, we visited Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama, Kyoto, and Nagoya. We tried ramen, udon, sushi, sashimi, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and other japanese food, i just can't get enough of those. We also visited tokyo tower, osaka castle, meiji shrine, and other place, the architecture was so amazing. We stayed at Akira's house. We met Akira's parent and his 7 year old younger sister. Our trip to Japan lasted for 10 days. As for our last day we agreed to go to go to Mount Fuji with akira's family.
